📏 Plant Size

Your Spider Plant sapling arrives at a healthy 3 to 5 inches in height, already showing its characteristic arching green-and-white striped leaves. Within months, it will begin producing its signature cascading “spiderettes” — baby plants on long trailing stems that can be snipped off and rooted to create an entire collection of Spider Plants!

✅ Uses and Benefits

  • 💡 Ultra Low Light Tolerant: Thrives in low to bright indirect light — one of the most adaptable plants for any room, any corner, and any light condition.
  • 🌡️ Virtually Indestructible: Tolerates neglect, irregular watering, low humidity, and temperature fluctuations — perfect for beginners and busy plant owners.
  • 🎁 Perfect Gift: A cheerful, easy-care, and meaningful gift — especially when gifted with a spiderette, symbolising growth, abundance, and new beginnings.
  • 🧘 Stress Reducer: Its graceful, arching form and cheerful variegated leaves create a naturally calming and uplifting display in any space.

🌱 How to Plant and Care Instructions

  1. Unboxing: Gently unpack the sapling. Let it rest in a bright, shaded spot for 1 day before repotting.
  2. Pot Selection: Use a 4–6 inch pot with drainage holes. For a stunning display, use a hanging basket — the cascading spiderettes will trail beautifully!
  3. Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix — potting soil + perlite (3:1). Good drainage prevents root rot.
  4. Planting: Place the sapling in the center of the pot. Gently firm the soil around the roots. Water lightly after planting.
  5. Sunlight: Thrives in bright to medium indirect light — 3–5 hours daily. An east or north-facing window is ideal. Can tolerate low light but grows faster and produces more spiderettes in brighter conditions. Avoid direct harsh sunlight which scorches the leaf tips.
  6. Watering: Water once every 7–10 days in summer and once every 14 days in winter. Let the top inch of soil dry between waterings. Spider Plants are forgiving of underwatering but dislike waterlogging.
  7. Brown Tip Tip: Brown leaf tips are usually caused by fluoride in tap water or low humidity. Use filtered water or let tap water sit overnight. Trim brown tips with scissors for a tidy appearance.
  8. Humidity: Adaptable to normal indoor humidity. Mist occasionally during dry seasons for lusher growth.
  9. Fertilizing: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer (half strength) once every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer. Do not over-fertilize — too much fertilizer causes brown tips!
  10. Spiderette Propagation: When spiderettes develop small roots, snip them off and place in water or moist soil — they root within 1–2 weeks! One plant can become dozens!
  11. Temperature: Thrives between 15°C–30°C. Keep away from cold drafts, AC vents, and temperatures below 10°C.
  12. Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years in spring. Spider Plants bloom and produce more spiderettes when slightly root-bound!

🏠 Indoor or Outdoor?

Spider Plant thrives in BOTH indoor and outdoor settings!

  • 🪟 Indoor (Most Popular): Perfect for living rooms, bedrooms, offices, kitchens, and bathrooms. Especially stunning in hanging baskets where spiderettes can cascade freely.
  • 🌤️ Outdoor (Shaded spots): Thrives on shaded balconies and patios in India’s warm climate. Protect from direct harsh sunlight and heavy rain.
  • 🐾 100% Pet & Child Safe: Completely non-toxic to cats, dogs, and humans — one of the safest plants for family homes!
  • Perfect for Indian Climate: India’s warm, humid climate is ideal for Spider Plants — they grow vigorously year-round in most Indian homes.
